Robert James Haynes is estimated to have been born in 1768 and was buried 27 November 1824 in St Joseph, Barbados. He married Elizabeth Battally and their children included Robert James Haynes (q.v.).
In a Levy Book list for St James, Barbados, 1822, Haynes was listed as owning 112 enslaved and 161 acres of land. The name of the estate (or estates) was not given. It is possible that this referred to the Mullineux estate in St James.
