1781 - ????
Owner of L'est Terre estate on Grenada between at least 1817 and 1829. Born John Foreman. Brother of William Foreman Home (q.v), and husband of Adelaide Home nee Rochard, with whom he counterclaimed for 3/6ths of the compensation for the enslaved people on an estate called Crochu [?] on Grenada: the claim was regarded as vexatious by the Commissioners, who awarded costs against him. He appears to have been in Grenada at the time of compensation: he was given as 'of Waltham' in a claim on Paraclete estate he made as attorney for his brother.
A detailed biography of Foreman Home and his and his relationship to Grenada's governor Ninian Home is available on the Paxton House website: https://paxtonhouse.co.uk/discover/history/caribbean-connections/ [Accessed 29/11/2024].
