Son of Thomas Bainbridge and his wife Sarah. Born 07/02/1773 and baptised 02/05/1773 in St Ann, Jamaica. His father Thomas owned Lindale estate which was inherited by his children in trust at Thomas's death c. 1782. By 1809 John Bainbridge was the sole owned of Lindale, which was inherited by his daughter Sarah Graham Bainbridge in 1817.
Jane Whitehorne Bainbridge, daughter of John Bainbridge and J. W. Bainbridge, his wife, aged about 1 year, was baptised 22/06/1808. Sponsors: Thomas Bramwell, Mrs Gordon of Hilton Hill, Mrs H. Nash.
Possibly also the John Bainbridge who owned 9 enslaved people and 2 stock in St Ann, Jamaica, in 1792.
