Biography

Joint owner of Egypt Estate (with Rebecca Ann Case) from at least 1823. Purchased the second half of the estate from Rebecca Ann Case between 1826 and 1829. Alive in 1832 but deceased by 1838 when the slave compensation was awarded to his executor Hamilton Brown. Possibly married to one of the daughters of Joseph Case (who had died by 1809 and who left his estate to his minor children).

  1. William Wallace (born 07/07/1823) and Mary James (born 10/06/1825), children of David and Mary McTaggart, were baptised in St Ann 14/04/1826. David, son of David McTaggart, planter of Egypt estate, and Mary his wife, was baptised in St Ann 05/02/1833.
