Owner of Outen or Outon estate in St Ann, Jamaica from at least 1809 to 1823 (where he was given as John Hawthorne). Probably the same man as the John Hawthorn shown as attorney for Unity Valley in 1817 and the John Hawthorn who was overseer of Valley Minor in 1806. LBS has not yet fully analysed the Hawthorn family. It appears that John Hawthorn of Outon and Alexander Hawthorn were active in Jamaica c. 1790-1820, probably brothers or half-brothers; and John of Glenluce and Robert (d. 1797) were the sons of John Hawthorn of Outon. No death-date has been found so far for either John Hawthorn of Outon nor John Hawthorn of Glenluce.
