    . Mary Ann Palmer Knowles, born 12/05/1791 and baptised, Trelawny, 10/07/1792

    . Charles Kinkead Knowles, born 20/03/1793 and baptised, St James, 23/07/1794; buried at Spring Estate in Trelawny 01/10/1808, aged 16 years

    . Eliza Partridge Knowles, baptised, St James, 01/01/1796

    . Ann Summers Knowles, born 21/06/1797 and baptised, Trelawny, 17/02/1799

    . Margaret, born 23/06/1800 and baptised, Trelawny, 15/10/1801.

  2. Elected Vestryman of Trelawny, 1793; an Assistant Judge there in 1802.

  3. Captain, Trelawny Regiment, 1796; Lt.Colonel, 1808.

  4. St George’s Regiment: Edward Knowles, esq, to be Major General effective 11/11/1814. Major General Knowles inspected the St Ann’s Regiment at Drax Hill and St Mary’s Regiment at Port Maria in September/October 1816 [Note: he was not an officer in the St George’s Regiment in 1808].

  5. Ann, daughter of the late Edward Knowles esq, married Capt. John Correvort, 6th Bn., 60th Regt., at Flamstead, near Dry Harbour, 17/07/1817.

  6. Eliza, eldest daughter of the late Edward Knowles esq married Dr .... Skirving at Orange Grove in St Ann, 09/10/1818 [? = Eliza Partridge Knowles]

  7. He was described as a nephew of “Major James” in a newspaper report of 1794.

  8. In 1817 the heirs of Edward Knowles deceased owned 195 enslaved and 152 stock in Trelawny.

  9. Edward Knowles esq, aged 61, died at Spring Estate Saturday evening 18/01/1817 and was buried the Monday following at family place of interment.
