Third surviving son of Samuel Vaughan (q.v.), the Unitarian London merchant and absentee owner. Brother of Benjamin, Charles, William and Samuel Vaughan junior (all q.v.). Philadelphia based merchant who traded with the London based family firm Samuel Vaughan and Sons. His father established him in business and left him a share of his estate in his will.
