1761 - ????
Enslaved person living and working on Unity Valley Pen (Portland), Jamaica. Manumitted in 1795 by David Barclay (q.v.) and removed to Philadelphia, with 29 other freed persons from the estate, where placed under the care of Society for Improving the Condition of Free Blacks.
Mintas was 34 at the time of her manumission and likely to have been born in Africa. Upon arriving in Philadelphia she was placed with S.R. Fisher but not bound to his service through an indenture. In 1801 Barclay wrote an account of the emancipation and the fortunes of the former enslaved now living in Philadelphia; Mintas was listed as having married Simon (q.v.) and 'conducts herself reputedly'.
