Partner in West Henry & Co. of Jamaica (who were slave factors) and in Alexander Henry & Co. of London. Alexander Henry was bankrupt in 1811.

  1. Gravestone at Kingston Parish Church cemetery: "Here lie interred the remains of Maurice West, who died 16th September 18[31] and Sarah, his wife, who died 18th March 1830. Also their sons William Henry West, who died 28th June 1822. Stewart West, who died 12th November 1850. And Maurice West, who died 31st July 1831. Likewise their nephew William Henry, who died 17th July 1835."
