Biography

Shown by Michael Ashcroft as a son of Charles Stewart Dallas (1761-1799) and grandson of Dr Robert Dallas. Island curate 1826-1833, dying as Vicar of Farncombe in Surrey.

Living at the Parsonage, Stratton, in the census of 1841, "clerk", with his wife Julia, daughter Georgianna age 11, Susan Dallas age 65 (presumably his mother Susanna Seil Dallas), Harriet Thompson age 60 and 3 female servants. At Stratton Parsonage in 1851, age 56, curate, born Jamaica, with his daughter Georgianna M. S. age 20, born Jamaica, and his widowed aunt Harriet C. Thompson age 72, also born Jamaica, his ward Margaret L. Percy, age 19, 3 visitors and 3 female servants. At Portsmouth Road, Guildford, Surrey, in 1861 and the Rectory, Deanery Road, Farncombe in 1871.

The will of Rev. Charles Robert King Dallas formerly of Uplands Guildford but late of Farncombe Surrey who died at St Mary's Rectory Godalming 01/02/1881 was proved 27/07/1881, effects £1113 1s 10d.

"BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHICH DIE IN THE LORD FROM HENCEFORTH YEA SAITH THE SPIRIT THAT THEY MAY REST FROM THEIR LABOURS AND THEIR WORKS DO FOLLOW THEM."
