???? - 1844
Slave-owner of Jamaica, resident in the 1820s, but apparently selling out his enslaved people before the time of compensation and dying in Wales in 1844.
Nov. 29 [1844] At Temby [sic] Pembrokeshire [death of] George Brown esq. of Crygyborion and formerly of Windsor Castle Jamaica.
Will of George Brown [formerly of Windsor Castle in Jamaica but now of Great Crygyborion] Amroth Pembrokeshire proved 14/12/1844. After leaving personal effects among a local network, he left his residual estate to his housekeeper Mary Walker in recognition of her care of him: it is implied that she was in Wales, although whether she had arrived with him from Jamaica is not clear.
Gentleman's Magazine, Vol. 177 (Jan 1845) p. 111.
