Biography

Presumably the Sarah Ann Treadway Branfoot, wife of Thomas John Branfoot and later his executrix. Their eldest children were baptised in Kingston, Jamaica in 1814. The will of Sarah Ann Branfoot, widow of Snitterfield, Warwickshire, written in 1830 and proved in London 13/06/1834.

Sarah An Branfoot now residing at Ingon[?] in the parish of Snitterfield, Warwickshire, widow.

To William Welch Lea of Beandesert, Warwickshire, gentleman and Rev. Richard Morris of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, clerk, all my equal half share in the plantation called Mount Ararat in Westmoreland, Jamaica, and all my slaves or negroes upon the same and all my messuages, land, plantations and real estate whatsoever and wheresoever upon trust. They to sell and absolutely dispose of the said moity etc and the proceeds for the following purposes.

Also to William Welch Lea and Richard Morris all my goods, chattels, monies, securities for money debts and all my other personal estate whether in Jamaica, England, or elsewhere. They to call in my debts and convert my personal estate into money, upon trust for the following purposes.

The proceeds to be divided equally amongst my five children Elizabeth Aisley Branfoot, Thomas Redhead Branfoot, Jonathan Haigh Branfoot, Hopper Branfoot and John Haugh Branfoot as tenants in common to be paid to them respectively when they reach the age of 21 years. The interest in the meantime to be applied towards their maintenance and education. If any die leaving lawful issue then their share to go to these children.

William Welch Lea and Richard Morris to be executors and guardians of my children.
