Given that the estate passed to Robert Home Gordon, this George Gordon might be his uncle George Gordon, an executor of the will of Robert Home Gordon's father John Gordon of St Thomas-in-the-Vale (q.v.) proved in 1774, which identifies George Gordon as his [the testator's] brother.
