Slave-owner in St Vincent: her trustee Duncan Forbes Sutherland was awarded the compensation for enslaved people on Hope estate, which had belonged to John Henderson. Carrington Thirlwall appears in 1841 'Independent' aged 30 [sic] living at Ickeford Rectory with Susanna Thirlwall aged 85 and Thomas W[igzell] Thirlwall (John Pyefinch's brother) and his family, and in 1851 she [as Carrington Therlwall] was shown as widow aged 48 [sic] born St Vincent staying as a visitor with a glove maker and his school mistress wife in Notting Hill Square. Carrington Thirlwall was buried at All Souls Kensal Green 05/05/1852, of Notting Hill Square, aged 55. Online genealogies show her as nee Henderson.
