Owner of Clydesdale Cottage in Trinidad, and apparently resident there, dead by 1837. His daughter Emily Marguerite married Charles William 'Shirley' Brooks, the editor of Punch, who has an entry in the ODNB as 'journalist and playwright': in their 1854 marriage record, her father was shown as William Bannatyne Walkinshaw 'dead'. She also appears with her sister in George Sala's Life and Adventures as the Misses Walkinshaw, known as Night and Morning because of differences of complexion: Emily Marguerite 'a brunette' was Night. The sisters according to Sala were sitters for Carl Schiller the miniaturist.
