Biography

Resident slave-owner in Trinidad, owner of Friendship Hall, insolvent in 1846.

  1. The Supreme Civil Court. In the Matter of the Petition of William Harris, of the quarter of Carapichaimed [sic], in the said island, Planter. PUBLIC notice is hereby given, that by an Order of this Honourable Court, made in the above matter on the 6th day of May 1846, the said William Harris was adjudged an insolvent; and that the said William Harris did, on the 17th day of June 1846, on the 14th day of July 1846, on the 21st day of October 1846, on the 3d day of March last past, on the 21st day of April last past, on the 16th day of June last past, and on the 21st day of July instant, appear before this Honourable Court, then and there to be dealt with according to the provisions of an Ordinance for giving relief to insolvent debtors; and that by a further order of this Court, made in the above matter this day, the further hearing of the petition of the said William Harris is further adjourned until Wednesday the 20th day of October next when the said William Harris will be brought up or appear before this Honourable Court, at the Court-house, in the town of Port of Spain, for his final order in this matter.
