MP for Surrey 1719-1727, son of Richard Walter merchant Barbados. In his will he left his estates in England and Barbados to his eldest son Abel (the father of John Walter and father-in-law of Newton Walter, both of whom q.v.) and land and slave-property in South Carolina to younger sons.
