Biography
Mortgagee on Cox's in Barbados, which belonged to her brother James Holder Alleyne. She did not appear as a claimaint in the compensation process, implying that either she or her executors (who included James Holder Alleyne) reached a private agreement. In Clifton England when she made her will in 1833 but died in Barbados in 1835.
- Will of Mary Alleyne of Clifton Gloucestershire [made 16/05/1833] proved 13/01/1836. She began with the fear that her nearest relatives 'may be reduced to much pecuniary distress' as a result of the altered state of affairs in the West Indies. Under the will she left her sister Charlotte Emily Alleyne the interest on £1200, late a debt owing by her brother Charles Thomas Alleyne but recently paid. Of the mortgage given her by her father Hon. John Forster Alleyne on Cox's for £5200 , she gave £1500 each to her brothers Rev. John Forster Alleyne and Henry Alleyne and to the children of her late brother John Gay Alleyne, and £500 to her nephew Alexander McGeachy Alelyne, and the remainder to her brother James Holder Alleyne. In a codicil of 08/02/1834, she said that she was about to leave for Barbados.
