Biography
- Administration of the will of Samuel Henry Pare, Barrister of St Georges and Christ Church Barbados [residing on Lower Berneys] [made in 1785] was granted 18/08/1825 to Margaret Elllcock, the widow of Edward Ellcock. Under the will Pare left his estate in trust to Edward Ellcock to pay £300 p.a. to his [Pare's] wife Anna Maria, and allow her the use of his 'negroes' for her life, and to pay the interest on the indebtedness due to him from the Prettejohn family equally to H.E. Holden [?] Parvis and Edward Elcock's daughters Margaret and Anna Maria Ellcock. The will triggered an extensive Chancery case in Mapp v Ellcock.
