Born 07/01/1809 and baptised in London 05/12/1810, second son of Edward Dalling Fitzgerald and Sarah Genery (his parents were not married). Inherited £10,000 from his father (who died in 1815), payable out of the proceeds of Kildare estate in St George, Jamaica. He may not have received this inheritance as the estate was heavily indebted.
