The will of Daniel Moore of Kingston Jamaica was proved 22/12/1810. He left to Ann Moore, a free person of colour, all the 'negroe or other slaves which [sic] I have at any time purchased and kept about my house,' and he put £2000 in trust for the benefit of Ann Moore for life and then to her daughter Grace. The rest of his estate was to be realised and remitted to England, to be used to educate his sons Lambert and Daniel Moore, with the principal to be shared between them at 21. He shortly afterwards added a codicil leaving land in Brooklyn New York to his sisters, and making several monetary legacies: he identified his brother as John Moore of New York.
Lambert Moore, son of Daniel of Kingston Jamaica, matriculated University College Oxford 02/06/1808 aged 17.
Daniel Moore of Kingston Jamaica was the eldest son of Lambert Moore of Brooklyn North America whose will was proved 0/05/1808. In the will the elder Lambert Moore left Daniel Moore £100, commenting that Daniel Moore had already received the real estate of his mother's father Edward Holland and was 'also otherwise in a comfortable situation through the means of his professional and practise as a lawyer.'
