Apparently resident slave-owner in Jamaica, owner of Fonthill in St Thomas-in-the-East, dead by 1815.

Tentatively identified as the John Stewart who was overseer on Friendship estate in St Thomas-in-the-East in 1779 and 1784, and attorney of both Friendship and Mount Pleasant estates in the same parish 1801-1807.
