Resident slave-owner in Jamaica, variously described as a Captain in the British Navy or an 'Irish Admiral', previous owner of Chiswick and known for his garden at Cold Spring on the St Andrew/Portland border.
DIED: At Cold Spring, in Port Royal Mountains, Matthew Wallen, Esq., Member of Assembly for Port Royal.
Cold Spring is assumed to be the same estate as Mount Pleasant, owned by Matthew Wallen and consisting of 85 acres in St Andrew in 1753.
