Biography

Variously appearing as 'Bernard Andreas', 'Barnard Andreas' as well as 'Barnart Andries' Woodstock. Resident slave-owner in Jamaica, dead by 1754. Wastel Briscoe was his brother-in-law and attorney. At present LBS has him associated with Holland estate in Trelawney, but it is more probable that his estate was Holland in St Elizabeth.

  1. Barnard Andreas Woodstock was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 1200 acres of land in Westmoreland and 3635 acres of land in St Elizabeth, total 4835 acres. Barnard Andrew Woodstock and John Hodges was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 7676 acres of land in St Elizabeth. Hodges and Woodstock were listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owners of 280 acres of land in St Elizabeth.

  2. He was buried at St Elizabeth on 10/11/1753, described as Hon. Barnart Andriess Woodstock, esq., Custos of parish.
