Eldest son and heir of John Taylor (Tailyour) of Kirktonhill (q.v.) (from whom inherited personalty including debts owed by John Tailyour's brother Robert Taylor of Ember Court (q.v.)), and brother of Simon Taylor of Kingston (q.v.). To date no direct slave-ownership has been traced for him.
