Brother of John Collins Alleyne, under whose will (made in 1811 and proved in 1819) he (William Gibbes Alleyne) was left the proceeds from the sale of Airy Hall in St Thomas Barbados: William Gibbes Alleyne was described in the will as of Demerara.

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
