Biography

Will of William Sandiford Mings of St John Barbados [made in 1805] proved 10/07/1807. In the will he said that his ownership of a sugarworks known as Downes, by agreement with representatives of the late Edward Henery, had been held up in Chancery. He left £2000 currency to Francis Gilkes, son of Elizabeth Gilkes, formerly Elizabeth Jones and late housekeeper of Springhead plantation. His residuary heir was his aunt Sarah Bayley, wife of Francis Shorey Bayley.
