1782 - 16th Feb 1846
Wellwood Hyslop resided forty years at Kingston, Jamaica, where he died 16th February 1846, aged 64. He was one of 14 children. His father died in 1803 and the Hyslop monument described the father as ‘an affectionate husband and parent, and a zealous and liberal friend’. Perhaps the need to provide for this orphaned family motivated Wellwood’s move to Jamaica.
