Biography

Slave-owner on Antigua, dying at Bath in 1767, father of William Mackinnon senior and great-grandfather of William Alexander Mackninnon (both of whom q.v.).

  1. Administration of the will of William Mackinen [sic] of Antigua [made in 1752] granted 29/01/1770. He confirmed the unspecified marriage settlement he had agreed for his daughter Elizabeth with Dr Thomas Fraser, and left the remainder of his estate after monetary legacies of £100 each to several relatives, to his son William. In a codicil of 1762 he left £1000 each to his four grandchildren, the children of Elizabeth Fraser.
