Biography

Brandon Hill and 101 enslaved people in St Andrew were owned by the estate of [blank] Heyman, deceased, in 1753. Probably connected to William Hayman of St Andrew who died c. 1737.

Note that Brandon Hill in St Mary was registered to the heirs of William Hayman in the Accounts Produce, 1740-1741.

Probably the William Hayman who was Member of Assembly for Kingston in 1722, 1726 and 1727.

William Hayman of St Andrew, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1737. Slave-ownership at probate: 129 of whom 81 were listed as male and 48 as female. 46 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £2686 Jamaican currency of which £2197 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £0 currency debts and £0 currency plate.

The will of William Hayman was proved in Jamaica in 1735.
