Theophilus Blechynden

Owner of Florence Hill in St Andrew with 500 acres and 56 enslaved people in 1753.

Theophile Bleychynden was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 500 acres of land in St Andrew.

Theophilac Blechynden of St Andrew, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1765. Slave-ownership at probate: 104 of whom 62 were listed as male and 42 as female. 15 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £15491.43 Jamaican currency of which £7200 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £47 currency cash, £2680.12 currency debts and £654.25 currency plate.
