Joseph Milward was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 100 acres of land in St Catherine and 850 acres of land in St Thomas-in-the-Vale, total 950 acres.

Total value of estate at probate: £12736.67 Jamaican currency of which £4200.6 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £5.77 currency cash, £5672.62 currency debts and £394.63 currency plate.
