Biography

John Gardner was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 651 acres of land in St Catherine, 750 acres in St Thomas-in-the-East, 1002 acres in Clarendon and 208 acres in St John, total 2611 acres. Note that a John Gardner junior appears in the Quit Rent books for 1754 as well.

Gardner and March were listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owners of 1320 acres of land in St Thomas-in-the-East. This may refer to Francis March or Foster March, John Gardner, John Gardner junior or Samuel Gardner (all q.v.).
