Anne Gardner Brodbelt nee Penoyre has an entry in the ODNB as 'letter writer and social observer'. Born in Jamaica, moved to England in 1798 after the death of her husband Francis Rigby Brodbelt (1746-1795). Her will was proved 19/10/1827 of Walcot Bath: under it she left half her holding in the consols to each of her two daughters Ann Maria Raymond and Jane Gardner Mackenzie. Reported to have died at Tenby, Pembrokeshire, not Bath (but then described as of Beaufort Buildings, Bath), 06/09/1827, aged 76.
