Thomas Ayscough was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 468 acres of land in St Catherine, 300 acres in St Mary, 36 acres in St David and 1497 acres in St John, total 2301 acres.
Thomas Ayscough of St Catherine, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1756. Slave-ownership at probate: 158 of whom 83 were listed as male and 75 as female. 38 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £8518.37 Jamaican currency of which £5099 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £22.54 currency cash, £0 currency debts and £649.29 currency plate.
