Jane Stone was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 1822 acres of land in St James. A memorial to Jane Stone was recorded on Catherine Hall estate, shown her as having died 03/10/1774 aged 80 'a lady of sincere piety.' Also buried there are Jonathan Barnett (q.v.) and the latter's daughter Mrs Ann Curtis. Jane Stone was reportedly the partner of Jonathan Barnett and mother of Hugh Barnett I.
