Biography

Medical practitioner of St Kitts, leaving more than £10,000 in his will of 1814.

  1. Will of Adam Sprott Practitioner of Physick and Surgery of St Christopher [made in 1814 and attested in 1815] proved 24/09/1817. He left his house at The Hermitage to his wife for life, and authorised her to 'give away' a house near Old Road. He left legacies of £1000 each to the four daughters of his brother Henry Sprott and £1000 to his sister Clark, and further monetary legacies totalling £5300 to friends and family. Successive administrations were granted in 1822 and 1826, the latter to the representatives of Christian Black, formerly Sprott, probably the woman named among his nieces.
