London merchant, partner and son of Robert Maitland the younger (q.v.), whom he predeceased c. 1801.

  1. Will of John Maitland merchant now being at Bristol Hotwells of King's Arms Yard Coleman Street London proved 28/05/1801. He left his wife Mary £4000, an unspecified part [the will has blanks where the amounts would be entered] to be paid in instalments at the discretion of 'the house of trade of my father and uncle in which the chief part of my property is invested.'
