Biography

Resident slave-owner of Dominica, born there in 1775 according to his will.

  1. Will of Frederic Bellot of Dominica [made 11/11/1834] proved 10/07/1835. He left his wife Angelique Rose Bellot a 2/3rd life-interest in his estates Colibri, Beterouge in St Mark (which he said was cultivated by tenants) and Bourspos [sp?] in St Patrick cultivated by 'free persons', commenting that his mother Mrs Jean Louis Bellot owned the other third. He left the compensation money to be paid for his 66 'slaves' to his wife.
