Executor and contingent residuary heir of John Wardrobe (q.v.), his brother-in-law. His mother Ann Gillon (d. 1756), the wife of David Dickson (1709-1780) was almost certainly related to John Gillon (q.v.) of Dominica. The ODNB entry for David Dickson as 'Church of Scotland minister and theologian' is silent on his and his family's connections to slavery.
