Probably the man shown as partner with Thomas Champion Bateman at St Swithin's Lane in 1789 and as solicitor of 10 St Swithin's Lane in 1791.
An indenture dated 23/03/1789 that appeared in a Rare Books sale catalogue of Samuel Gedge Ltd. [n.d.] shows the sale by William Snell & Sarah Snell of Thames Ditton to William Pearce of St Swithins Lane of a half share in the sugar estate formerly called Mount alias Mount Martha but now Cape Sale in Grenada, of 243 acres and with 130 enslaved people.
Will of William Pearce of Swichin's [sic] Lane proved 10/04/1824. The will makes no reference to slave-property.
London Gazette 13101 30 June 1789 p. 412 shows the dissolution of the partnership between Thomas Champion Bateman and William Pearce of St Swithin's Lane; London Gazette 13318 18 June 1791 p. 364 shows William Pearce as solicitor of 10 St Swithin's Lane.
