George Bryan

Biography

Soldier and absentee slave-owner, son and heir of Rev. John Bryan (q.v.), killed at Tavalera in the Peninsular War in 1809. He has a plaque in Westminster Abbey.

  1. Will of George Bryan late Lieutenant in the Second or Coldstream Regimeny of Footguards at Tavalera proved 08/03/1810. In the will he left his estates in Jamaica called Hertford and Spring [?] to his mother Eliza Louisa Bryan of Grafton Street.
