Sister of Alexander Donaldson (q.v.), and left the interest on £30,000 under the latter's will, under which her children were also beneficiaries, although Donaldson's estate might not have supported all the legacies he left. Her daughter Mary married (1) Henry Mitford and (2) Farrer Grove Spurgeon Farrer.
Farrer v Grant litigated whether the contingent interest of Mary Farrer formerly Mitford nee Anstruther under her grand-father's will belonged to her or her husband's executors, The Law Journal for the year 1829 Vol. 7 pp. 95-7.
