Biography

  1. Wife of John Thompson, owner of May Day and Woodside Plantations in Manchester, Jamaica. Thompson died between 1820 and 1823. Catherine remarried, to George Dempster, in 1824, and they had three children: a son, born at Kenswell Lodge 29/11/1824; James, born 22/8/1826 and bapt. 09/06/1828; Alexander John, born 25/02/1828, bapt. 9/6/1828. The baptismal entries describe the father as resident at Albion.
