Biography

Slave-owner in Jamaica, shown in 1776 as the owner of Maxfield and described as 'of colour.'

  1. Will of William McDonald surgeon of Trelawney [made at Bristol in 1782] proved 03/01/1783. In the will he left £100 to his son Vincent William McDonald in bar of all future claims against his estate, and left £500 to Mary Julian [sic] Wassels, daughter of James Burnside Wassels of New York. The rest of his property he left to his son and sole executor Robert Henry McDonald (q.v.).
