Fanny Francklyn (née Webbe)

1771 - 22nd Dec 1851

Biography

Heir to £10,000 under the will of her father George Webbe senior of Nevis (q.v.) and also heir of her brother Josiah Webbe of the East india Co. She was also the residuary heir of Alexander Allan, MP for Berwick 1803-1806 and 1807-1820, an East india Co. director. She induced the reinstatement of her own family's surname by her son Alexander Allan Webbe, a preference expressed by her own mother Mary Webbe (q.v.), and presumably reflecting in both cases her estrangement from her husband mentioned in her mother's will made in 1814. No will has been found for her.

Fanny Francklyn of 18 Hereford Street was buried 28/12/1851 age 51 in All Souls Cemetery, Kensal Green.
