Mary Ramsay Karr (née Bourryau)

???? - 1784

Biography

Annuitant as to £200 p.a. under the will of her brother John Bourryau of Grenada (q.v.). Her annuity was secured on the property he placed in trust, which included his estates in St Kitts, Grenada and Jamaica, with those in Grenada to be sold. Her eldest son was to inherit half the estates in St Kitts. The will of her husband David Ramsay Karr [surgeon at] HM Shipyards at Portsmouth of Kippilaw Roxburghshire, proved 14/01/1795, makes no mention of her family (he left £1000 to an 'adopted daughter' and left his Kippilaw estate to his brother Andrew Ramsay Karr (q.v.) in entail).
