Biography
Merchant of Kingston, brother of John Gray of Bath (q.v.).
- Administration of the will of Thomas Gray of Kingston merchant [made in 1782 and proved in Jamaica in 1784] was granted 28/04/1798 to Thomas Gray the nephew. He left £5000 to his widow Elizabeth Gray and £7500 in trust [his trustees were Edward and Rene Payne, the latter of whom later renounced his executorship] to his three nephews Thomas Gray, John Gray and '______ Baker', and £2500 to his son-in-law [sic, in fact his stepson] William Jamison. He made Thomas and John Gray his residuary legatees, failing whom his niece Mrs Ann Jamison.
