Anglican clergyman, one of the Chaplains in Ordinary to George III. Younger son of William Byam of Cedar Hill (d. 1779). His father left him £4000 and a contingent interest in an estate in Pembrokeshire, and his brother Edward left him £1000 in 1795.

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
