Biography

David Ewart of Birchin Lane, Notary Publick was party to a deed of 05/10/1774 under which Thomas Taylor of St Vincent sold annuities of £360 p.a. to a group of London bankers and merchants including Ewart, secured on Taylor's estate and enslaved people in St George's parish, St Vincent. Ward purchased an annuity of £100 p.a. for his own life and for that of the then Prince of Wales.

  1. Will of David Ewart [late of Birchin Lane London but now of] Brampton Cumberland proved 21/01/1791. He left property in Brampton and Whitehaven to his wife Ann for life and then to the family of his sister (also Ann). His nephew Isaac Hetherington, son of Ann, was granted administration in the 1840s.
